Sunday Reset
It as been a slow start to the year, starting to pick up the last week or so.
The ebbs and flows are always hard for me.
During ebbs--I wonder if I'll remember how to work hard again (if the opportunity to work hard again will return).
Spoiler Alert: I do remember and the opportunities do return.
During flows--I wonder when a slow time will ever return, if I'll have time to work out or relax again.
Spoiler Alert: Slow times return, as do workouts and relaxation.
This is the life of a type-A, high achiever, with a tendency towards people pleasing and meeting expectations.
So, this weekend, to find ease and contentment in this moment, I took some time to work--to plan next week, to prepare for a hearing (in small, less overwhelming chunks), and to revisit my toolkit for finding moments for myself during what will be a full week.
I also enjoyed some Olympics, catching up on the Traitors, and a really delightful meal with my husband at a new restaurant.
Life, personally and professionally, is full--not as full (or chaotic) as last year, for which I'm very, very grateful.
Using slower times to recover is an important skill and lesson--one I try to revisit consistently.
