A Business Decision

Litigation is a business decision first and a legal fight second.

I tell every client the same thing at the start: litigation will take longer and cost more than you'd like--the cost is both time and money and a lot of it.

And: you'll get tired of hearing from me and my team.

I'll be in your inbox asking for updates and documents, scheduling meetings, pestering you during your work day (and during your life moments).

So, before we do anything, I ask: If I could wave a magic wand, what would your ideal outcome for this dispute be?

That answer may change between our first meeting and the night before trial (and every step in between). That's okay--it is expected.

My job, at the start, is to show you where the leverage points are and what you could gain (or lose) by litigating--to investigate what you are willing to gain (or lose) in pursuit or defense of this dispute.

Good litigation strategy is part cost-benefit analysis, part human psychology, and part knowing that leverage shifts over the life of a case. 🔥✌🏻♥️
