My bestie, Claude.

Outside of work’s secure environments, I use Claude in my personal life. He’s my personal, executive, travel, life assistant.

Some fun, recent uses:

Style Guide:

I took a picture of each wearable-to-work piece of clothing in my closet, 44 pieces total.

I uploaded the photos to Claude, told it my general sense of style and style goals, and had it come up with a document mixing all the pieces into the available variety of outfits creatable from the set. I also had it identify gaps and, from there, source the missing items from my favorite stores.

Next, I had it plan out three days’ of outfits for my short workweek, after telling it my commitments each day. And, then, I had it plan two outfits a day for exploring and dinners for my upcoming trip to Boston.

I don’t actually own a ton of clothes (my husband’s closet is fuller). I’m simple, even a minimalist on this front. I also want to put each piece to good use. Claude is helping make that happen.

Travel Agent:

Some of you know about my recent reading adventures.

I also dream of traveling more, but lean toward less touristy, more laid back travel.

So, I gave Claude my travel preferences (food, hotel level, length of trip), and asked it to recommend travel itineraries based on my favorite series: Cork O’Connor, Gamache, Bruno, Ruth Galloway, and Manuelito (Leaphorn & Chee).

It planned these dream trips in some detail, recommending best times of year to go, where to stay and eat, places to see, if a rental car is needed, a budget to set aside, and more. Then, I asked it to recommend other long book series that I should read based on these favorites (I am set for a long, long while).

Expert Gardener:

It is my dream to create a pollinator garden at our home Up North (around and to hide the septic tank opening).

I do NOT have a green thumb, but I’m inspired by a more recent turn keeping two house (office) plants alive.

So, I gave Claude our zip code, described the area for the garden, including the type of sunlight it gets and asked for a step by step guide to creating a pollinator garden. It gave me the steps, and the schedule—a three year plan starting this fall.

This also includes how to address weeds and varmits it attracts. I have already started eyeing our condo’s cardboard giveaway bin to make this happen starting next month.
